Please Note: Due to the extreme temperatures experienced in the 1994 event, Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon race management has established a policy to be put in place in the case of extreme heat conditions.  You will be advised the day before if this plan is set into action. SWIM – swim course map 1500 meter lake swim, USA Triathlon wetsuit rules will prevail.  Note: The water temperature in Buffalo Springs Lake, on average, is 70-74 degrees.  It is a spring fed lake, which keeps the water temperature cool, even during the record 113 degree race day.  With this information in mind, please bring your wetsuit on race day. (Wetsuits are allowed at 78 degrees or cooler) BIKE bike course map 40 km out and back.  The course is mostly flat, with 3 climbs on asphalt roads. RUN – run course map 10 km out and back.  The course is flat, with some shade on asphalt roads. AID STATIONS Aid stations will be placed in the transition area, as well as approximately at each mile of the run.  Water, fluid replacement, ice, etc. will be provided along the course.
